Motorsport modules

This page contains ŠKODA Motorsport site (http://skoda-motorsport.com) specific modules documentation.

Main navigation in ŠKODA Motorsport display the second level links using block with feature image. It is using standart Wordpress functionality for menu definition.

This Page Builder module allows displaying of image banner with a text box inside (overlay). Text box displays static text or counter showing time remaining to given moment.

In backend you can set URL of image, text shown and switch between showing of automatic counter or static text. It can be reused, but it’s essential to modify the module for different backend (editing interface) and customise display in frontend for different template.

This Page Builder module allows displaying of photos and videos in carousel. It supports slide, zoom, lazy load and embedding of YouTube and Vimeo videos.

In backend you can specify which media are shown, set number of media shown, change ordering of media (random or latest) and set background shown behind the gallery.

It can be reused, but it’s essential to modify the module for different backend (editing interface) and customise display in frontend for different template.

Widget shows rallies in a list – either complete list or (if we are on championship page) list of rallies of the given championship. Rallies are presented with flag (thumbnail image), title, date (from and to) and they allow to link on article (Post) with a text for the given rally.

In backend you can add widget with specified title and number of events shown. Custom Post Types Rally and Championship have field used by this widgets, as well as Posts can be linked to Championship and Rally. So: widget uses connection between Rally and Championship and connection between Rally, Championship and Post.

It can be reused, but it’s essential to modify the widget for different data structure (i.e. events of different types have to be shown in calendar) and different editing fields.

Examples:

• Fact Tool (animated numbers – values – with units and short description)
• Masonry (listing of Posts with image thumbnail, short excerpt and link to the full article.. presented in specific “masonry” layout).

Most of the modules allows to display certain Posts in certain layout.

All of the modules are added and modified with Page Builder, which is highly specific. Options are most commonly – what will be displayed, what title will be used, how many Posts will be displayed.

Reusability of Page Builder modules is highly lowered because this backend component is strictly template specific and also the frontend view is template specific. Therefor any module has to be customized for different backend and frontend before it’s possible to be reused.
