====== Automated media replication ======

Storyboard allows automatic replication of attachments into other languages, once the attachment becomes [[.:hidden-functionality|unhidden]].

Purpose of this replication is to automatically expand the media library on frontend without the need to manually recreate attachments.

Common use case is:

  - Media is uploaded to administration in Czech language
  - Media is edited with caption/alt etc.
  - Media is unhidden
  - Media is replicated in Slovakian language with czech text

Same use case could be used to replicate English attachments into Serbian for example


Media replication setup can be configured in Administration panel -> Settings -> Importer settings

===== Replication process in detail =====

If the attachment is created in both languages, then nothing happens.

The replication only takes place during the process of unhiding an attachment. Once attachment becomes unhidden, the second language is checked if the attachment is already translated.

If the translation does not exist, it is recreated using same metadata, caption, alt, description, publish date etc. Categories from the second language are also assigned if they exist in the language.
